State government should be driven by community members and local activists and not political elites with corporate interests. With this shift in leadership, everyday citizens and marginalized groups can build a sense of collective power and influence, and create meaningful change in their communities.
Political impact
You make an impact when you vote, run for office, or when you volunteer for a candidate who shares your issues. Stay on top of the issues you care about or that affect you and work to meet others who share your concerns. Attend rallies or protests, or participate in online forums or social media groups.
Know your representatives and express your views and concerns. Attend town hall meetings, write letters, or schedule meetings with your representatives. Use your voice!

Thoughtful leadership
Thoughtful leadership won't cower from speaking truth to power for their constituents.
We are at a critical point in the history of our state and 'protection' is the operative word -- protection of our environment, the preservation of reproductive rights, and the protection of LGBTQ+ rights.
We also need sensible gun control that doesn't punish law-abiding citizens.
We must continue to push for racial justice initiatives, gender equality, healthcare, affordable housing, veterans issues, and fair, transparent, and accountable government. We arrive at these solutions TOGETHER - not by dangerous votes from extreme right-wing legislators with special interests. That's NOT representative government.
